The University of Missouri (also known as the University of Missouri–Columbia, Mizzou, or MU) was founded in 1839 . The University of Missouri-Columbia is accredited by the Commission on Higher Learning of the North Central Association of Colleges and School.

The University’s academic divisions include: College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources , School of Natural Resources, College of Arts and Science, Trulaske College of Business, School of Information Science and Learning Technologies ,College of Engineering , College of Human Environmental Sciences , School of Social Work , College of Veterinary Medicine , School of Health Professions , School of Medicine, Sinclair School of Nursing , School of Journalism , School of Law, and the Truman School of Public Affairs.

Missouri’s only state supported school of health professions on a campus with an academic health center, and the only allied health school in the University of Missouri system, the school is uniquely positioned to educate highly qualified health care professionals.
